Get an access key
VpnHood! CLIENT has no servers of its own, so it connects with an access key, also called a server key. You get one from whoever runs the server.
What an access key looks like
It is one long line of text that starts with vh:. It tells the app which server to reach and lets you in, and you add it to the app only once.
How to get one
Ask whoever runs the server
A friend, a community or an organization that runs a VpnHood! server can send you a key, and some people may sell one. Copy the whole line.
Try to get your key from reputable people, as your traffic goes through their server. Keep it to yourself: anyone who has it can use that server.
Run your own server
If you have nobody to ask, run a server of your own and create your keys there. See how to run your own VPN.
Use an app with its own servers
VpnHood! CONNECT has servers of its own, so it needs no access key. See VpnHood! CONNECT.
