OmegaHood LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is the controller of the data described in this policy. This policy applies to our website, www.vpnhood.com. Our apps, our VPN servers and our account website (account.vpnhood.com) have their own policies, listed on our Legal page.
The website has no accounts and no forms, and we never sell your data.
What the Website Collects
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to learn how the website is used: the pages you view, the links you follow (such as downloads), how you arrived, and your approximate location, device, browser and language. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser so it can recognise a returning visit; they hold a random identifier, not your name or contact details. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner.
- Delivery and security — the website is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare. Both process your IP address and the details of each request, such as the page and the time, to serve the website and protect it from abuse.
- Your country, for a regional notice — some pages ask Cloudflare which country your IP address belongs to, to decide whether to show a notice meant for visitors from that country. The answer stays in your browser; we do not store it.
- Your preferences — the language and colour theme you choose are remembered in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device.
When you write to one of the email addresses on the website, we keep your message and your email address to answer you and to look back on earlier requests.
Links to app stores, GitHub, our account website and other sites take you to pages covered by their own policies.
Your Choices
Where the cookie banner is shown, you can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining removes the Google Analytics cookies. Anywhere, you can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on to stop Google Analytics on every website. The website works the same without them.

They process the data for the purposes described above. Cloudflare and GitHub also keep their own records of requests under their published policies.
Why We Process Data
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- consent for Google Analytics in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland; you may withdraw it at any time under Cookie settings; and
- legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the website, in understanding its use elsewhere, and in answering the messages you send us.
How Long We Keep Data
Google Analytics keeps the data for up to 14 months. We keep emails for as long as we need them to answer you and to look back on earlier requests.
International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland use a recognized safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or approved standard contractual clauses.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, or object to certain processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always available on this page, and changes take effect when posted here. Every revision is recorded in our open-source repository — see the change history of this policy.
