VpnHood! CONNECT - Privacy Policy
This page informs website visitors about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if they decide to use our service, the VpnHood website, or connect to our online VpnHood servers.
If you choose to use our service, you agree to the collection and use of information under this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the service and preventing unlawful activities. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
What VpnHood Servers Collects
VpnHood servers collect anonymous analytics data, including technical information, and send it to Google Analytics. This data is entirely anonymous and does not relate to user information or devices. An example of this data includes the number of times the app is run, the operating system version, and device model information. Our open-source code ultimately shows that we don't send any user-identifiable information anywhere.
Technical information
- VpnHood Connect Unique Device ID. This ID is randomly generated on the client side and does not correspond to the Unique Device Identifier.
- VpnHood version and build number
- Country
- Locale
- OS name and version
- Phone model (if applicable)
- Session start and end time
- Browser
- Architecture
- The number of bytes sent and received
Note: This applies only to the software; tracking depends on the VpnHood server you connect to. See the "Log Data" section.
Log Data (Applicable if you connect to our VpnHood server)
Note: This section is not applicable if you set up a private VpnHood server.
We really don't know how some VPN companies claim they don't keep any logs, yet they come up with terms of service that mention detecting unlawful activity and suspending accounts.
When you connect to our VpnHood server, which we operate, such as our free public servers, we collect information that your VpnHood CONNECT sends to us, known as Log Data. This Log Data includes technical information in the previous section, plus:
- User email and public information (if you log in)
- We log user IP Addresses and user activity for 30 days
- For user activity, we have to log the time, and client endpoint (IP address, Port), with a VpnHood Connect Unique Device ID, and keep it for 30 days.
We do not back up these log files. If the server hosting sends us "Notices of Claimed Infringement," we use these log files to find and notify or suspend user accounts.
Important! We do not save your destination endpoints, such as the domain, URL, or IP address you are browsing.
Please note that we store user activity solely in the VpnHood server log files, not in our database. However, we store technical information associated with VpnHood Connect, including the Unique Device ID and user email (if available), in our database.
If you don't like this policy, you need to set up your own server and install a VpnHood server on it, but we believe you will encounter the same problem with your server hosting.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our service
- To provide the service on our behalf
- To perform service-related services
- To assist us in analyzing how our service is used
We want to inform our service users that these third parties have access to their personal information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any purpose other than the specified one.
Android Permissions
The QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission is used to allow the user to select which apps are allowed/disallowed to use the VPN.
Children's Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect identifiable personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please get in touch with us so we can take the necessary actions.
Client's Feedback Bug Report
The VpnHood Connect allows you to submit feedback or a log file to us to solve a client's technical issue. Their email field is optionally available if you would like a response from us. We also include some basic information in the client's log file, but automatically remove sensitive client log information, such as the client's IP address, that doesn't require debugging. Please see the item "Technical Information" to see what data we collect.

We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Therefore, we recommend that you review this page periodically for any updates. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
